This year, Pasqua Peaks will distribute proceeds to several worthy causes in Fort Qu’Appelle.
Fort Qu’Appelle Elementary Community School is raising funds to install accessible outdoor playground equipment for students. After three years of dedicated effort, they have begun purchasing larger pieces of equipment as funds allow. They are still approximately $110,000 away from their goal.
Bert Fox Community High School is raising money to build a new outdoor sports court and communal space. Construction on the court will begin this spring, and they have enough funds to complete the playing surface. However, they continue to fund-raise for beautification efforts, including trees, a picnic shelter, and benches.
Echo Valley Trails Advisory Group (EVTAG) is a non-profit organization working in consultation with Echo Valley Provincial Park staff to enhance the development and use of multi-season recreational trails within the park. We will provide a small donation again this year to EVTAG to support their basic operating costs.
We believe these groups align with the race’s vision of promoting movement in the great outdoors!

RACE DESCRIPTION
The 5k course is a great intro to trail running! The race starts at the Glacier Rock Centre and quickly directs the runners onto 'Owl' which swoops up the valley. You'll then immediately dive back down on 'Eagle' before your final climb back up 'Otter.' From here, you can enjoy the beautiful fall foliage as you wind your way across the top of the valley on the wide cross country ski trails. Finally, you'll have to dig deep as you descend 'Badger' towards the 'Rock Garden' and the finish line!
The 13k (ish) course, with approximately 400m of elevation gain, allows you to hit all the best animal trails in the park! The race starts at the Glacier Rock Centre and quickly directs the runners onto 'Owl,' which swoops up the valley. Enjoy your time up top scurrying through the trees on 'Raccoon' before gliding back down on 'Eagle' with a quick left for a leg burner straight back up on 'Otter'.
You will then head west along the wide cross country ski trails, where you can refuel at the aid station (km 4). Soar onto 'Raven' which takes you part way down the valley, just to have you take a sharp right onto 'Mink' to climb back up. You'll stay on 'Mink' which will guide you back down and enjoy "peaks" of the lake through the trees as you head to Hole in Wall. Your calves should be screaming as you climb a set of stairs on the Interpretive trail for your last big climb!
You've worked those legs, and now it's smooth sailing from here! You will jump back on the ski trails and pass the aid station again for a quick nibble just before the 10km mark, then head to the far east of the park to prance through 'Deer' and onto 'Badger' for a great way to bring it home. Kick it into high gear when you get to the 'Rock Garden' as you get ready to pop out of the trees and race for the finish line!
One 13k loop isn't enough for you?! You can have twice the fun by signing up for the 26k (ish)!
